Nature’s Walk

Nature has her walk. She’s called a ‘she’ because she is the literal birthing ground of all our existences. She changes drastically, teaches us, and provides us with everything we need. But do we learn something from her?

The first photo taken on my favorite route.

My favorite route should give me the crème de la crème of insights, right? Well, it didn’t. But it did remind me of something far more effective a certain fella called Bashar once said:

The greatest power requires the slightest touch.

How can something so simple be so beautiful?

Trying to escape reality through screens or distractions only gives temporary relief. Distraction is kind of like having a cigarette addiction: creating stress that can only be taken away by the same stress.

And hey, I’m not here to judge. Look at your screens, get distracted, and have a little fun. But looking at nature won’t need to distract you to make you feel good. It’s quite the opposite.

Who reserved a panoramic view?

The difference that is felt between looking at nature and looking at screens is anything but surprising. Screens move fast; nature is vast. But both are more similar than you think.

As we are an extension of nature, screens are extensions of us. The technology that feels unnatural has the same neurological network as us. We literally would not have been able to make it without basing it on ourselves.

The network of trees is mind blowing.

Trees are a concept of their own. The way they work astounds me. Other than knowing that hugging them makes you feel better, there is another piece of information provided by Bashar that blew me away (like the wind).

Leaves can see you...

No, I did not just make that up; it is quite literally what he said.

And do you know what he said that helps me every single day?

What you have thought all the time as fairy tales is actually the way life is
— Bashar

I do not have any problem believing that. But for quite a while, I made myself believe that I did. Even though I know for a fact that when I talk to a plant, I’ve seen it move; when I say I love you to a plant, it grows better; or when I tune myself to it, I can see the auras of the trees.

“Look, Mom! The leaves moved!” “Honey, that’s something called the wind. It’s blowing all the time, but you never get to see it.”

Nature teaches, and screens distract. Nature built us, but we built screens. And yes, we do live in a society, which is what this kind of sounds like (I’M FULLY AWARE). But we should be proud of that.

We built something so intricate and vulnerable (just put the screen in water and it’ll die) that we have amazing uses for! Screens teach us now, just like nature does. Yet — and I’m not saying one is better than the other — one will always remain simple.

Can you guess which one it is?

Thank you so much for reading this blog post!

I am grateful that you do.

Go for that walk & stare at some nature!
