What is real?

A question which has plagued my mind for quite some time: what is real? Because the more I learn on my so-called spiritual journey (just my journey in life, really), the more I discover that it does not matter. We still think it matters, we want it to matter because we have to make it matter. That is the voice of the ego which is also not real. But then, what is real? This is my take on what is real and what is fake.

We have to find meaning; we have to be right; we have to win and we have to be successful in life. But why? Why do we have to be right? Finding meaning I can totally agree with, but being right serves no purpose other than feeding the ego more and more.

I am the one who is right;

This isn’t what’s happening in the world;

This diet is best;

I know the best way on how to make money;

This is the right political stance;

This person is a bad person;

This person is a good person;

The earth is flat;

Corona isn’t real;

This is offensive;

This isn’t offensive.

Blah - blah - blah - blah

I mean, don’t you get tired of it? The endless discussions about literally nothing. Who gets to decide what is real and what is not? What is meaningful and what isn’t? What is offensive and what isn’t? Maybe this answer is a good one:

Who cares?

Why would you waste all of your time and energy fighting battles which have nothing to do with you. Battles which take valuable energy away from you. Energy which you can use in order to make an actual change in your life, an actual change to the world.

‘’Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.’’

- Rumi

But most of us don’t spend energy on changing ourselves. Most of us project our energy onto the world which we think needs fixing. Our egos (the voice in our heads which we identify with and who we now think is actually us) have been fighting each other through us. We have been identifying with our egos for such a long time now that we think the voice is our own, we think the thoughts it presents us are our own and we believe it is natural to be in a state of negativity most of the time.

Let me tell you a little secret:

You are not your ego.

‘’The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.’’

- Eckhart Tolle

The only true person that exists is your ‘I amness’.

You are. That’s the only you that is real. And the being side of you, just is. It does not think, it does not judge and it isn’t unhappy. Your ‘I amness’ is always happy all of the time, because it is its natural state.

‘’Feeling good feels good because you’re supposed to feel good.’’

- Abraham-Hicks

Try to literally just observe something without judging it. You will feel nothing and after a little while, you’ll feel really happy. That is who you truly are. You are not the voice inside of your head. That is just wat it is: a voice inside of your head. Ego.

I think we just have forgotten on how to feel happy lately. We think being unhappy is a part of life, which yes it is, but not in the way you might think.

In life there is hardship because we experience something called: contrast. We have the opposite of us in this world which is negativity. We need negativity, pain, traumas and other difficult things in order to learn. When sick, in pain and going through certain struggles, we are forced to come up with solutions. We then finally are able to find the answers through the lessons which we need to learn, because it makes us focus on the other side of negativity: positivity. We get out of our own ways (our ego’s ways) and we find the answers or solutions.

~ We are forced to find another way, our inner-being (who is happy all of the time) wants us to. It needs us to. ~

So yes, we need negativity but we are not supposed to be negative. We have only forgotten how it feels to be mostly positive, because of something called: The Law of Attraction.

Whatever happens to you in your life, is all because of your vibrational standpoint. Like attracts like energy, you get what you do unto others, love thy neighbour, treat people how you want to be treated, blah blah blah. Point I’m making: you get what you think about (put your attention on) that is called Law of Attraction. You cannot escape this because it is a law and it is always at work.

So when you’ve got a lot of momentum going a certain way (the negative way), it means that your negative thought momentum attracts negative things in your life which make you more negative. Even statistics say that a person has on average: 60.000 thoughts per day and 50.000 of those are negative. This means that because of the Law of Attraction, momentum picks up and you will experience a lot of negative things.

So, all of the mostly negative people with very active egos will then only naturally fight each other on what is real and what is not, who is right and who isn’t. I get it but for your own sake: stop.

I am not saying I am an angel and have never done this. I have had some of the worst discussions with people about absolutely nothing. And even today I still do sometimes. I am human, I have an ego inside of me who I’ve identified myself with too. But I now feel so good that it is not worth doing anymore. It is not worth wasting any energy on what I think is right or what I think is real.

If a diet works for someone else but not for me, good for them! If someone is offended by what I say, they have the right to be offended. If someone thinks the world is flat then go ahead! Think the world is flat because who am I to tell you it isn’t.

~ I don’t care ~

& me judging someone for it has nothing to do with them, it only takes away valuable energy from me. It does not matter who is right, it does not matter what is real, it only matters what you feel.

What gives you energy?

What is meaningful to you?

What do you find beautiful in this world?

& what makes you feel good?

Those are better things to focus upon instead of what is right and who is right.

Focus on yourself, the world will be a better place because of it.
