Does fate exist?
Fate, destiny, your lifepath or whatever you want to call it, almost all of us believe that there is some path laid out for us which we should follow. Either by god, Gaia or your higher-self, the belief of having a divine bricked road in front of us, is quite comforting at times. But does it actually exist?
The first time I doubted the concept of fate, was when I was (believe it or not) watching the first Twilight movie. The vampire sister (Alice) of the main heartthrob of the movie (Edward), has special powers. She can look into the future before the event has happened. When Bella (Edward’s human girlfriend) and Edward are talking about his sister’s powers Edward says: ‘’Alice’s visions are subjective, I mean the future can always change.’’
This was the first time the concept of fate being fake, actually crossed my mind. I always was a firm believer of fate, because I wanted to believe there was something bigger than me out there. But now coming to find out; there is nothing bigger than me out there (not talking about size).
Humans really think we’re mere bags of flesh & bones wandering a planet, all by mere coincidence. That ain’t the case my love. ❤️
We are here because we want to be here. You probably chose everything that you wanted to experience in this lifetime and you have all of the power to experience anything that you want. The only thing holding it back = you.
I now firmly believe that we create our own fates. There is no real purpose for anyone either; we also create that.
“The meaning of life is to give life meaning.”
- Viktor E. Frankl
To me this quote says it all. Because believing in a certain fate or a certain path, can also mean putting serious limitations on yourself. It can create a negative discord in your mind where you really want to do something, but your fate says something else.
It is also a good concept whilst playing the blaming game. When something doesn’t turn out the way you would want it to:
~ ‘’It’s my fate.’’ ~
It is quite easy to do this as we are taught to always blame the things outside of us. Don’t feel bad if you do this because we all do this. We all think things are happening because of the circumstances outside of us, whilst every spiritual teacher knows; there is nothing outside of us. An event without a perceiver is not an event; it doesn’t even exist.
Think about it:
a tree trunk gets hit by a bolt of lightening whilst a flying pig lands on it and gets blown to smithereens.
But, no one is there to witness it.
Did it then actually happen? If no one saw it, did it even happen? Try to think about this concept: if no one you knew saw it happen and you didn’t see a video online of it either, you would never know about it. You could still say: ‘’well, it did happen, I just happened to miss it.’’ But what if everyone else happened to miss it as well? No one would ever know about it.
Meaning: it never happened.
✨Now back to fate✨
I was talking to someone about this and they do believe that there is something called fate out there. But the only reason they believe it exists, is because they said that everything is perception. ‘’If someone believes in it, it means it’s real.’’ And you know what, they are right about that. Everything is perception and you cannot tell someone else what is real and what is fake. But that just begs the question:
Does their belief make it real?
If everything, the entire Universe, is governed by the Law of Attraction, that means that you get back what you put out there. It means that if you believe in fate, then that is what the Universe will bring into your experience. It responds directly to your ongoing vibration, it either being in your favor - or not.
So yeah, fate can be real if you decide it’s real, but it’s also not real if you decide it’s not real. But that begs another question:
What is real?
Does a real thing exist? No.
Then who is right? No one.
Then, what’s the truth? Nothing.
But, who do we listen to? Ourselves.
Then what’s the point?
There is no point, but you can create one.
Is fate real? If you wish it to be, it’s real.
