Sometimes, you only need to forget everything you think you know.
Humans are quite arrogant in their assumptions, even if what they assume seems humble: “Success just doesn’t come naturally to me.” Why, you’re quite steadfast about that! How do you know what’ll happen next in your life?
It’s time to forget everything you think you know!
But it’s not our fault that we are predominantly wired to expect the negative.
“This is human nature.”
Nope… This is taught to humans. And it makes us quite arrogant! But it also gives our power back to us.
Because true power is to be found in paradox. A simple sentence that is so powerful; it changes lives.
Example:
If you don’t trust in yourself, you have full trust that you don’t trust in yourself.
I guess you didn’t think about it like that, did you?
It is quite humbling how modest we think we are being, because, quite frankly, we are doing the direct opposite! We are stubborn in our negative belief systems, and that’s it!
It is not human nature to think negatively, it is not written in stone that luck only happens to the lucky, and we are not doomed to work till our pensions; it is our belief systems inherited from our world.
And that’s it!
Forgetting everything (we think) we know can (and will) create space in our minds to think freely. This will lessen our negative expectations, and thus we get more positive outcomes.
Self-fulfilling prophecy: You are out of a job!
And our true job begins:
Figuring out who we are without the pressure of hive-mind thinking.
Starting to think differently, just because it feels better.
We might skip the news, the doomscrolling, and the obligations we did not sign up for.
Just because we might not know everything we always thought we knew.
And the next time you think you’re humble, you are being quite arrogant!
But no worries! So is everybody else in this world. :-)
This was short but sweet.
Much love,
Juliet
